As always, I do my best to keep things natural and simple- which is why I’ve never tried any whitening products for my teeth.
I didn’t eat many sweets when I was younger or drank soft drinks and nowadays I mostly only drink water and if I eat sweets,
it’s always dark chocolate.
So I know that for me it hasn’t been as hard as it could be to keep my teeth healthy and white,
but I still do now and then apply some tricks:
For a long time I used the simplicity of a banana peel – or strawberries.
Because of the potassium, the magnesium and manganese that allow your teeth to help the white color shine more.
How to use it ?
I like using organic ones,
simply because that’s the best way I can make sure that my teeth aren’t getting anything else than a banana.
First of all, choose your banana peel and then start rubbing the inner part on your teeth for a few mins, keeping your mouth open, so you don’t swallow the paste – after that you may see some slight change to how your teeth looked before.
For some it doesn’t work, but for me it works immediately after one time.
If it doesn’t work for you, then give it a try for a few weeks.
If it doesn’t at all, I’m sure the second method will!
I’ve been using activated charcoal for the past year now and then.
It traps chemicals and also prevents their absorption.
So doing that it will allow your teeth to get off that “extra layer” and make your teeth whiter than before.
Activated charcoal comes from the normal charcoal ( made from peat, coal, wood, coconut shell, or petroleum ).
It’s not the same, but similar since it is heated so it can be used as a medicine, because through the process,
it produces some kind of “pores” that help trap the chemicals.
So the same benefits can be applied internally – but that’s another topic.
How to use it ?
You simply need and extra toothbrush that can get dirty – literally.
First I like to take a sip of water to wet my gums and teeth,
then let my brush run really short under water and then dipping it in activated charcoal so that the surface of the brush is covered.
Now it’s the fun part – simply start brushing your teeth.
Don’t worry, the black color will easily disappear.
simply brush your teeth the way you would normally do –
I like using toothpaste that doesn’t have fluoride ( and ingredients that I at least understand ).
There are a lot of people who do this 7 times a week.
I’ve never been a fan of using something too much – so I would use these methods once a week maximum.
I believe that our body just needs some help now and then and not perfection every day.
But like with everything,
it’s your personal choice.
Let me know if your teeth are shining more after trying this out for yourself 🙂
When I’m out in the city,
it’s unpreventable for me not to have my awareness on this little thing called “Smile”.
Too many walk around not noticing that they have a look like they are extremely mad –
well, maybe they are, that’s human.
BUT – we are in a space where we have to co-exist and why not interact with each other through energy ?
It’s just a simple way of acknowledging each other.
I doubt any of us would truly feel the best being by themselves all the time – and I am saying this,
the ones who know me,
know that I’ve always been the type of person who believed that we don’t need anyone else than our own company.
But we ( the ones who choose to do so ) evolve.
To be honest.. it’s just a fear of being vulnerable.
Our Ego not allowing us to connect.
You don’t have to walk around like a Joker with the biggest smile, but neither do you have to look so sour all the time.
Try this next time (or even if you are on your way somewhere right now! )
you are in a space with people you haven’t met yet and cultivate a warmth in your gaze and a soft smile on your lips.
Giving the other person you meet with your eyes recognition and empathy –
because no matter what we are going through, a little of all that feels good sometimes.
What do you feel ?
Love & Light ,
What’s more powerful than combining the energy of mother earth and the elegance of a woman?
There is something that we have forgotten about –
the beauty and importance of connecting with each other and deepening the grace of the true definition of a woman.
It seems like when we think of women it’s all material things like clothes, make-up, purses & shoes –
when all of that is a superficial image society created and forgot about the depth of it all.
As a woman, being able to look at each other and see the beauty and grace of another woman is to me so powerful.
Without thoughts of jealousy, comparison or judgement.
This of course, goes hand in hand with how we are with others,
but I feel the need to mention the connection between women now and then,
because we tend to forget how blessed we are and that there is more to us than what we are portrayed as.
To acknowledge that we, as ‘goddesses’ have so much power from our ancestors, that can be awakened.
A woman, a goddess in her wholeness is beauty, raw, emotional, individual, powerful, creative, sensual, loving and wild.
We have been so focused on changing ourselves by acting differently and constantly trying to be something we don’t feel comfortable being or simply because we think we have to be some kind of way,
instead of embracing each other and just BE.
Surrounding yourself with other sisters is more than just gossiping,
talking about heartbreaks and going shopping.
It’s a platform for you to feel whole and supported, to be creative, expressive and feed each other love and growth.
No matter how you look like or how ‘different’ you may feel.
Know that you are a goddess.
As soft as her petals and as strong as her roots .

The idea came up in a very spontaneous situation when a friend of mine and I saw that we wouldn’t be able to make it to an event that we were really looking forward to attend.
We decided not to allow that to stop us from taking some time to (dis)connect,
even if that means: not leaving the city, or the space where we are at.
It didn’t take us much time to decide that we will have a weekend home retreat –
Planning was the key
& here are a few things that I recommend to create a space at home where you can reconnect to yourself and your surroundings :
Set your phone on flight modus and choose an intention for the next days.
Routines are a beautiful way of bringing clarity and focus into your day
– Like starting your day with opening the windows,
energetically cleaning your space and drinking water before meditating.
Allowing yourself to consciously take time to prepare yourself to start the day.
We chose a few different things that we would incorporate in our day,
that would be in tune with our intention and help us reconnect to ourselves and slow down for 2 days.
Nourishing and hydrating our body during those days was our focus.
Not only simplicity in our meals was truly important,
but spoiling our body meant preparing things as clean as possible and with awareness.
Filling the time with meditations, slow yoga sessions, journaling and reading –
is all we need to slowly wind down and be ready to end the day.
A soft transition into the night by singing mantras before going to bed,
drinking lavender tea and allowing your mind to let go of what was.
Simplicity has become a must for me in the kitchen.
Food combining while keeping it simple,
has become my everyday way of preparing meals in a way that I have developed my taste.
I find that nourishing the body and enjoying the actual taste of food is a lovely way of allowing yourself to feel good.
Here is a little and quick Quinoa Inspiration ♡
all you need is :
- red Quinoa
- browned ( almond ) Tofu
- ( canned ) Chickpeas
- Sunflower seeds
- Soy sauce
prepare the Quinoa as you’d prepare rice ( add a little bit more water than the double amount & as you desire a bit of vegetable broth )
cut Broccoli, Celery & Tofu
when the Quinoa is almost ready and a bit of water is left, put in the Broccoli ( so it keeps it’s vitamins and remains a bit crunchy )
allow the Quinoa to dry a bit, then add the Tofu, Chickpeas & Celery ( optional: with Olive Oil )
sprinkle a bit of Lime juice & soy sauce on top
decorate your plate with your favourite herbs and sunflower seeds 🙂
“people have a hard time letting go of their suffering. Out of fear of the unknown, they prefer suffering that is familiar ” – Tchich Nhat Hanh
We sense so much fear – of the new, the old and the now. It feels as if sometimes in the moments we think we can stand on rocks, a wave comes back again and throws us off.
Our patterns come back to the surface as if we never tried to communicate, to heal and give them what they need. It’s a constant roller coaster, a constant awareness that yearns water to remain lush and green- over and over again.
There is a kind of grey zone that doesn’t seem warm nor cold, light nor dark.
It’s in those moments when our sensitivity to the vulnerability of our own selves is being challenged. A moment when a higher source is moving and unlocking passages through us that in the moment we tend to misconceive.
A moment where we need to breathe and trust and know that we haven’t forgotten how to stand on rocks, but simply relearn how to guide ourselves to remember.
To remember how to navigate through our grey zones.
I’m sure you have heard of using Spirulina in your smoothies before, but have you ever thought about the idea of using it’s benefits not only to strengthen your body, but make your skin glow?
First of all – what’s Spirulina anyway ?
Spirulina is a dark green aquatic plant that grows in alkaline water ( with a high pH ) . It is one of the world’s oldest foods and even now it is seen as a super food.
I won’t be naming all the benefits, but for now just focusing on why it would be heaven for your skin. Just to name a few things:
Spirulina tightens your skin and cleans out your pores by absorbing water. Not only it exfoliates your skin and it includes minerals, but it’s a powerful source of beta-carotene ( lots of Vitamin A ), Vitamin B, C and E and.. you get the point. So after using that beautiful green color on your skin, it will definitely thank you by ending up being as soft as a baby and bringing out your natural glow.
Who doesn’t want to have baby smooth skin? The more simple we keep it, the better, the easier it is for your body to recognize it’s benefits – & don’t worry, the green color won’t stay 😉
So here we go:
If you’d like to create a weekly ritual at night to pamper yourself you could ( like me ) wash your face with a mixture of rose petals and warm water. The best is to let your face dry naturally without using a towel, so that your skin remains untouched.
Once your skin is freshly washed and your pores are ready to be cleansed, go ahead and take about half of a small spoon of Spirulina powder and mix it with a tiny bit ( ! ) of filtered water until it becomes almost a thick cream.
And the fun probably starts when applying that gorgeous deep green color on your face. Reminding the times when painting our faces used to be our highlight of our day – So allow your inner child to have some fun at this point!
Let it sit for about 15 mins until it dries.
Gently wash it off with warm water and then with cold to tighten up your pores again.
If you like, at the end you can take a small amount of coconut oil to nourish your skin and clean your face to get the rest of the mask off your skin.
Even when we are aware of it all, it seems that appreciation seems to slip through. Like appreciating the fact that we don’t need tubes or any kind of help to be able to breathe, to be able to allow our breath to flow in and out – giving us energy for the next movement ,thought, emotion. Do we appreciate the fact that our cells keep reproducing themselves on and on and on ?
While I took a moment to think about the things that slip through in this consciousness that we work on every single day, tears came to my eyes. Being healthy and radiant, the ability to sense your body and having beautiful people in your life who love you … are not just simple things that should be separated from it all. From this whole motivation of striving to ‘be better’.
Instead of striving and wondering so deeply, sometimes just taking a few moments to acknowledge and give thanks for the things that do work in our life, is a big part of it, too. For the things that just flow, for the things that are in the direction we want them to be, for this flawless body of ours that allows us to have this human experience … protecting us day by day.
Feel gratitude, truly feel gratitude for it all. Because we have a ton of things to feel blessed for.
…and so as someone reminded me of something one day, I will pass the message on:
keep your inner child alive -because becoming hard as a rock is easier noawadays than spreading love and seeing light in everything and everyone.
” I take it as a challenge to open up people, because even they want to be loved, no matter how much they act it out to be the opposite “.
The more life gives me opportunities to grow the more I know that all of us are children at heart wanting to be appreciated.
So just remember… That we all try and we all want to be accepted for what we do, that next time you look at someone and think to yourself that they are ‘crazy’, stop for a second and acknowledge that it’s their inner child.
That all you are seeing is a reflection of yourself trying to be accepted.
Remember to remain soft, remember to remind others not to forget this.
